The government have to work constantly for the welfare of the masses. And in this process media will play a vital role as they had to show Is the government Doing the work in a right way or the government leaders are indulges in unfair practices. |I think that in India Some of the politicians are corrupt and they themselves do not follow the rule that is meant to be followed. Sometimes even the public choices do not matter to these politicians. I believe that Politicians should have cared for the country and even for the welfare of the people. Everyone should have that much observation and understanding to select the right instead of any other person. We are given a chance to elect and to do something for the country indirectly and that moment if we do not choose the right one then what's the use.|
In my point of view, India is a democratic country and everyone here is equal. Politicians should also have that much right until they have a major power. From the last 70 years of independence, one of the major obstruction in the path of enhancement of India is Corruption. Our Prime Minister has taken a very good decision to change the currency, I totally respect it and agree with it.
India has various resources but until they are used in a proper manner.

We keep on saying that creating awareness among people is the best way to introduce value in Politics, but who will create awareness we can't believe on media or social network. So we youngster should create awareness through any way that we like. The youngster should come into politics and law should be changed like "those who had any complaint in police station regarding of criminal or civil cases he/she will not be able to stand in the election. Those who stand in a election have also certain education qualification.|

|Value based politics is eroded from the political fraternity owing to the reason of illiterate representatives we opt to represent the literate society. The value of anything can only be felt if our vision is broad based and we are explored to the horizons of society. Having no sound backgrounds of ethical hierarchy, these politicians make the whole society captivated by lucrative promises and it is the nature of we people to fall into the trap of goodies being promised. So analyzing the whole episode we too fall short of moral values which tend us to forward value less people to represent us.|

|Hii guys. All of you added good points. And I also agree with this that many of politician are not working for society. They only work for themselves. But few of politicians like Modi and American president Barack Obama, they don't think about themselves. They only want to do for their country and their society. And one more point I want to add that nowadays corruption and politics are complementary for each other. If our youth generation wants to do something for the country then don't take or give bribes. Really bribes are very serious problem in our country. Who has no skill they give bribe and get jobs and other things. And after few years they also start to take a bribe. The conclusion is that don't blame politician only. Try to understand our responsibility and do something for our country. Vote for a right person. For the goodness of society.|

|Friends you have made good points but I would like to add that value in politicians are imperative as we can see they are involved in different scams, sometimes alleged for violation or corruption. People have empowered them, and the onus is on them to make it transparent as far as democracy is concerned people preserve their own rights to criticise government in their own way.|
But there is always a conflict of interest. A recent parliament logjam is the evidence of it. It not only proves the lack of values in politicians but also a livid and unacceptable attitude of creating a fuss with some frivolous issues without keeping in mind any sort of constructive thinking. Game of votes will be always there but they should keep it in mind governance is about regulation not about enjoying coveted power. Are you all agree with me?

|In my honest opinion, I think value based politics is need of hour. Leader should not just use politics as a business to make huge profit by making big scam like 2G, coal gate etc. We people elect them as our representative believing that they will solve our problem like unemployment, power crisis, social inequality, economical inequality etc. So this is their honest responsibility to meet the expectation of common people.|
There is lots of power given in the hand of politician by our constitution for making growth of the country but they are misusing this power. For instance our parliament sees frequent disruption in its smooth functioning by our MPS but for every minute our country spend 2.5 lakhs to run our parliament. This is because of irresponsible attitude of our politician.
So as a concluding comment I would like to say that our politician should be loyal enough towards our country and society in terms of discharging their duties in order to ensure rapid and holistic development of the country.

|I am a student of political science and I am surprised to learn that instead of having so many good laws we have been suffering from such problems like corruption at the top. I have always took the right to vote but not voted for anyone. Similarly, there is a law that if we don't like any of the candidates stood for election, we can take voting option but not vote for any of those candidates, then that list will get cancelled and a new list of candidates will be made.|
By doing this we can prevent our nation from getting corrupted leaders. But the problem is "unawareness". Most of the people do not know about such laws (few are even educated). So our first step being the active youth is to aware everyone openly about the laws of our country. By doing this half of the problems will be covered. There are many laws that give us our rights and authorities being the citizens. So, lets first aware people with our laws.
Often I hear young Indians like us " India is so dirty, filthy, and political system is good for nothing, so I will settle in abroad and will never come back" I feel like slapping them but then I realize - Are they wrong! Guys its a petty that young students are saying this about our INDIA. So lets come forward together and seriously do something because its our responsibility to handle our motherland with love, care and pure affection. |It is not the question of value based politics, it is the question of value based society. We always curse politicians for doing all wrong i.e. corruption, immorality, fake commitment, dividing people in the name of religion, region, caste and language but have we ever thought- why they do it, answer is very simple - they do it for us, they do it for vote and who gave them vote simply WE, So if we will correct our self they will get automatically corrected because they will not have any scope for their wrong acts.|
If we come to know that politician ABC has ignited riots in our territory then why people vote him/her more in coming election. So, think who is more immoral.
Shouldn't we cast nil vote to him/her this time to give the lesson of moral & values and to make them understand that their evil doings are not acceptable.
We need to remind them their duties which are protection of our rights, facilitate us better opportunities for our social & economical growth, continuous improving our surrounding so that we can live with dignity, peace and prosperity.

They are not only spoiling the youth but they are exiting the youth because of their false promises and oaths. On the time of the politics they are making fake promises like education of girls are free, and free current etc. But after electing them they are not even doing 1/4th of them. The poor youth believing that they would help them sacrificing all their family and education will do dharnas and strikes on behalf half of them. In this manner not only they suffer but their elders also suffer keeping a lot of expectations for them. |
We have to choose the youth as politicians and also who will follow courteous principles as our leaders. Before independence the people were really patriotic and there were good leaders to govern them. When the generation is moving fast the "theory of existence" came into exist. And the morals and values become extinct. The humble and patriotic faces of the politicians turned to cruel and cunning they are more money eager and they alittle patriotic. The politicians are committing forces and schemes instead of saving that money for the benefit of the people. There is a least choice of seeing the politicians who are patriotic and selfless in the future India.

The no-homework policy of a second-grade teacher in Texas went viral last week, earning praise from parents across the country who lament the heavy workload often assigned to young students. Brandy Young told parents she would not formally assign any homework this year, asking students instead to eat dinner with their families, play outside and go to bed early.
But the question of how much work children should be doing outside of school remains controversial, and plenty of parents take issue with no-homework policies, worried their kids are losing a potential academic advantage. Here’s what you need to know:
For decades, the homework standard has been a “10-minute rule,” which recommends a daily maximum of 10 minutes of homework per grade level. Second graders, for example, should do about 20 minutes of homework each night. High school seniors should complete about two hours of homework each night. The National PTA and the National Education Association both support that guideline.
But some schools have begun to give their youngest students a break. A Massachusetts elementary school has announced a no-homework pilot program for the coming school year, lengthening the school day by two hours to provide more in-class instruction. “We really want kids to go home at 4 o’clock, tired. We want their brain to be tired,” Kelly Elementary School Principal Jackie Glasheen said in an interview with a local TV station. “We want them to enjoy their families. We want them to go to soccer practice or football practice, and we want them to go to bed. And that’s it.”
A New York City public elementary school implemented a similar policy last year, eliminating traditional homework assignments in favor of family time. The change was quickly met with outrage from some parents, though it earned support from other education leaders.
New solutions and approaches to homework differ by community, and these local debates are complicated by the fact that even education experts disagree about what’s best for kids.
The most comprehensive research on homework to date comes from a 2006 meta-analysis by Duke University psychology professor Harris Cooper, who found evidence of a positive correlation between homework and student achievement, meaning students who did homework performed better in school. The correlation was stronger for older students—in seventh through 12th grade—than for those in younger grades, for whom there was a weak relationship between homework and performance.
Cooper’s analysis focused on how homework impacts academic achievement—test scores, for example. His report noted that homework is also thought to improve study habits, attitudes toward school, self-discipline, inquisitiveness and independent problem solving skills. On the other hand, some studies he examined showed that homework can cause physical and emotional fatigue, fuel negative attitudes about learning and limit leisure time for children. At the end of his analysis, Cooper recommended further study of such potential effects of homework.
Despite the weak correlation between homework and performance for young children, Cooper argues that a small amount of homework is useful for all students. Second-graders should not be doing two hours of homework each night, he said, but they also shouldn’t be doing no homework.
Not all education experts agree entirely with Cooper’s assessment.
Cathy Vatterott, an education professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, supports the “10-minute rule” as a maximum, but she thinks there is not sufficient proof that homework is helpful for students in elementary school.
“Correlation is not causation,” she said. “Does homework cause achievement, or do high achievers do more homework?”
Vatterott, the author of Rethinking Homework: Best Practices That Support Diverse Needs, thinks there should be more emphasis on improving the quality of homework tasks, and she supports efforts to eliminate homework for younger kids.
“I have no concerns about students not starting homework until fourth grade or fifth grade,” she said, noting that while the debate over homework will undoubtedly continue, she has noticed a trend toward limiting, if not eliminating, homework in elementary school.
The issue has been debated for decades. A TIME cover in 1999 read: “Too much homework! How it’s hurting our kids, and what parents should do about it.” The accompanying story noted that the launch of Sputnik in 1957 led to a push for better math and science education in the U.S. The ensuing pressure to be competitive on a global scale, plus the increasingly demanding college admissions process, fueled the practice of assigning homework.
“The complaints are cyclical, and we’re in the part of the cycle now where the concern is for too much,” Cooper said. “You can go back to the 1970s, when you’ll find there were concerns that there was too little, when we were concerned about our global competitiveness.”
Cooper acknowledged that some students really are bringing home too much homework, and their parents are right to be concerned.
“A good way to think about homework is the way you think about medications or dietary supplements,” he said. “If you take too little, they’ll have no effect. If you take too much, they can kill you. If you take the right amount, you’ll get better.”
